Current prices for food in Alanya

Before any move to another country it is important to have information about everything that will surround you daily. Especially it is necessary to represent the price range for basic food products. In this article we will help you navigate the budget allocation for purchases in food stores, traditional markets, cafes and restaurants in Alanya.

Of course, due to the increased dollar exchange rate, all prices increased but local residents didn’t feel any changes. Therefore, we provide you with current prices translated into Russian roubles.

Prices for basic food products don’t differ much from those in Russia and compared to the capital are significantly underestimated: potato – about 35 roubles, tomatoes – 30-50 roubles, cucumbers – 60 roubles, oranges – 40 roubles per kilo, bread – from 10 roubles, a kilo of sugar or a dozen eggs – 70 roubles, a litre of milk – 50 roubles, a kilo of chicken meat – about 140 roubles.

And don’t forget about the auction; it’s still appropriate but not in supermarkets, of course, but in traditional markets.

We won’t go far and tell you about the features of local bazaars:

– There are only 14 markets in Alanya and they work on certain days.

– Approximate working hours: from 9:00 to 19:00. But don’t put off going to evening time because in the morning all fresh products are sold out very quickly.

– It is better to pay in Turkish lira so you don’t risk overpaying.

– The markets prepare Gözleme – tortillas with cheese, this is a local fast food. And they can make fresh juice before your eyes.

Of course, we should mention the prices in local cafes and restaurants. By the way, the menus in Turkish establishments are also quite affordable. For example, for 1000 roubles, you can have a good dinner together. But it is better to choose those restaurants and cafes that are rarely visited by tourists. Prices here will be lower but the quality and taste of food won’t suffer. You have to know that in Istanbul you will spend more on food and a table in a restaurant than in Alanya.
